While good fortune shone on Clare this past weekend, Clare also received record amounts of sunshine last month.
Met Eireann has revealed that Shannon Airport recorded it’s highest level of sunshine for any September day since 1945, with over 12 hours of sun on the 3rd of last month.

Overall, September was a warm dry month here at Clare’s main weather station. Temperatures were half of a degree above normal, while Shannon recorded only half of it’s typical rainfall levels.
And despite sunny conditions at the beginning of the month, only 80% of typical sunshine levels were recorded.
