The Environment Minister is being asked to consider a water rates waiver for Ennis residents, to make up for years of problems with the local supply.
The new Ennis Water Treatment Plant has been up and running for a number of months now but will be officially opened by Minister John Gormley this Friday.
With domestic water rates to be introduced in the near future, the Mayor of Ennis says he’ll be asking the Minister to consider the 30 thousand residents in the Ennis, Clarecastle and Barefield areas who had to pay for water while numerous boil notices were in place.
