The Tánaiste’s adamant the Government will continue to fight for a better deal on our bank debt – despite objections from Germany.
An official in the German finance ministry is reported as saying that if Ireland’s given a better deal on the bank bailout it’ll send out the wrong signal.

The Government here hopes that if Spain gets a good deal on any bailout of banks there, then there would be knock-on benefits for us.
Tánaiste’s Eamon Gilmore insists negotiations will continue.
