Proposals to offload Shannon airport as part of a government sale of state assets is being played down.
It’s reported the recommendation to offload all three airports under DAA control, is contained in the Review Group on State Assests which is due before government this week.
The Transport Minister Leo Varadkar met members of the Shannon Airport Authority on Friday ahead of the Cabinet meeting

Local representatives says any move to sell Shannon would be foolhardy but Clare government representative don’t believe there will be a knee jerk reaction to the proposal.
However Fine Gael TD Pat Breen has told Clare Fm that he will fight’s the midwest’s corner, if necessary.
