Government Set To Veto Mueller Pay Packet

The government is expected to vote against approving the pay package of the Aer Lingus boss at the airline's AGM today.

It's reported there are concerns over a proposed pension increase for CEO Christoph Mueller, which would see the employer contribution rise from 25% to 40% of his base salary.

It comes amid ongoing controversy over the pensions of other employees at the airline.

The government has a 25% stake in Aer Lingus, and it's unclear whether the motion will be approved later.
