Fianna Fáil is calling on the government to reject a report which proposes cuts in child benefit for middle and high income earners.

Only those earning less than 25 thousand euro a year will be automatically entitled to the maximum payment.
It could see child benefit cut by 22-euro a month for some families.
But Fianna Fáil’s Willie O’Dea says if the government wants to restrict payments to high earners it should use the tax system.
