Clare’s Senator insists the government’s ambitious €116 billion Ireland 2040 plan is welcome news for this county.
The 20 year strategy sees 22 billion euro allocated to climate change, 12 billion for social housing and 11 billion for health.
Among significant projects in this region will be the 900 million euro M20 motorway linking Limerick with Cork, as well as a 96-bed unit at University Hospital Limerick.

Shannon Group has been promised 150 million in funding until 2022 for its investments, including a 10 million euro redevelopment of Bunratty Castle.
The Killaloe Bypass, Shannon Crossing and Limerick Northern Distributor Road are all included as expected.
