The union is also seeking urgent talks on the impact of cuts with the Garda Commissioner.

Last week – the GRA followed the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors by withdrawing from the public sector pay talks.

Yesterday – the Justice Minister renewed his call on the Garda unions to re-engage with the negotiations on extending the Croke Park Agreement.

However – the GRA Central Executive Committee has today passed a no confidence motion in Alan Shatter.

The rank and file officers representative body is also requesting the Garda Commissioner to outline to the force – whether he believes any further reduction in pay will have a negative effect on policing.

The GRA is seeking an urgent meeting with Martin Callinan to outline the difficulties Gardai are dealing with – accusing him of being unaware of the impact ypay and resource cuts are having.
