GRA to meet over cuts

The Garda Representatives Association is expected to strongly reject cost-cutting measures proposed by the government at a meeting later today.

It’s understood the Department of Justice wants to make savings of 60 million euro in the garda pay bill over the next three years.

The Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors (AGSI) has already pulled out of the talks process over the extension of Croke Park.

Last Friday, the GRA said its members would not accept any further pay cuts or changes to conditions and work practices.
