Efforts to increase the numbers of Clare children cycling to school have received a boost.
Three schools,in Kilkee, Ennis and and Shannon have received grants for the installation of cycle parking facilities.
The monies allocated under the Green Schools Travel Programme will see 10 spaces provided at Querrin N.S, a further ten at Scoil Chríost Rí in Cloughleigh in Ennis while the funds provide for 20 such spaces at St. Caimin’s.

In the case of Scoil Chríost Rí and St. Caimin’s the cycling facility being provided is sheltered.
Welcoming the announcement Clare Fine Gael Government TD Pat Breen says the installation of good quality cycling parking is essential to facilitate and encourage children to cycle to and from School.
