The Transport Minister has said restoring passenger growth at Shannon Airport is one of his top priorities for the new year.
In a list of department priorites published today, Minister Leo Varadkar said establishing a new Company at Shannon to run the independent airport and boost business there is one of his main goals for 2013, along with other projects including the Gathering Tourism Initiative and further improvements in road safety.

Minister Varadkar is expected to visit Shannon later this month to announce the make up of the new board of directors who’ll work along side Newquay woman Rose Hynes to oversee the new entity.
