Facilities at Ennis General and Limerick Regional Hospitals are safe from Health Budget cuts next month.
The Minister for Health has confirmed to Clare FM that ongoing capital investments to improve overstretched services in Limerick and to facilitate day services in Ennis are going ahead as part of the reconfiguration of mid-west hospitals.
Minister Mary Harney admitted there have been problems with the A and E changes in Clare and Limerick but she said the Mid-West is leading the way for health reforms and local patients are now guaranteed a better service
