Harris Claims Progress Being Made Over Orkambi

Campaigners for a life-saving drug are holding a protest outside the Dáil this lunchtime.

It comes as the Health Minister says progress has been made in securing approval for a life changing Cystic Fibrosis drug.

Talks on reducing the price of Orkambi have been ongoing between the HSE and the manufacturer ‘Vertex Pharmaceuticals’.

Minister Simon Harris says the process is now entering a critical phase and he hopes it will be concluded in a matter of weeks.

But Kilrush campaigner Cheryl Cooke-Kahl, who’s brother Robert suffers from Cystic Fibrosis said the wait has gone on too long.
