Clare's Independent TD believes the success of the trial re-opening of Garda Stations in rural areas will lead to further stations coming on stream in the future.
The Justice Minister is bringing forward a proposal to open six of the closed garda stations across the country on a trial basis, to monitor the impact on crime.

It's not known at this stage whether any of those will be based in Clare but Dr Michael Harty has pointed to the success of re-opening the station in Kilmihil, saying it's had a positive impact on his local village.
Deputy Harty believes the Government is taking heed of the need to address crime levels in rural areas.
