Health Minister To Open Cystic Fibrosis Unit At UHL Today

A new unit for adults with Cystic Fibrosis is being opened at University Hospital Limerick today.

The state-of-the-art Leben building has been developed by the Clare, Limerick and Tipperary branches of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland and will provide care for in-patient and out-patient visits.

Six million euro in funding was raised by TLC4FC over the past number of years to allow the development of the unit, which will be officially opened by Health Minister, Simon Harris as part of his visit to the MidWest today.

CEO of Cystic Fibrosis Ireland Philip Watt says it is one of the largest partnership projects in the history of the Irish health service.
