Health Minister Warned Of Need For GP Service Investment

A North Clare doctor is warning the Health Minister that he faces a 'huge task' as he looks to get Universal GP and Primary Care up and running in Ireland.

Minister Leo Varadkar said he was prioritising GP care over Universal Health Insurance, as he announced that the 2019 target date for that scheme was "too ambitious."

However, he's now being warned that major work will be required with his chosen plan of action as well.

Dr. Michael Kelleher feels considerable investment will be required in General Practice, though he also believes this would be money well-spent.
