73 Patients On Trolleys At Region’s Main Hospital

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains considerably high today.

The latest INMO figures show 73 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 35 of those in the Emergency Department alone.

The overall figure is down from a record-breaking high of 85 earlier this week, but the Dooradoyle facility remains the busiest in the country by far.

The next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital recorded 14 fewer patients on trolleys.
