Trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital have spiked once again, as a new week begins.
According to the INMO, there were 80 patients without a bed at University Hospital Limerick this morning; 43 of those on trolleys in the emergency department alone.
The figure is double that of the next busiest facilities – South Tipperary General Hospital and Cork University Hospital had 40 patients each awaiting a bed.
