Calls are being made in Clare for funding to be released to purchase vital equipment, including an MRI scanner, for the region’s main hospital.
It follows a recent meeting, in which local representatives were warned of the delays caused by the current aged equipment.
At present, there is just one MRI scanner in the UL Hospitals Group; which was installed at University Hospital Limerick in 2003, despite high demand for it from patients on a daily basis.
