The future of medical services in Newmarket-on-Fergus is in doubt once again following news that the recently filled GP vacancy there has fallen through.
It was announced in June that a doctor had been sourced to fill the vacancy left following the retirement of Dr Colm Hackett.
However, the HSE confirmed in a letter to Dr Michael Harty on Friday that the position had fallen through, meaning there is now fresh uncertainty over the future of GP services in the town.
