Lowest Level of Missed Appointments Reported At Limerick Maternity Hospital

Almost half a million outpatient appointments across Irish hospitals were missed last year.

The Irish Daily Mail reports that this represents over 12 per cent of the 3.8 million appointments scheduled in 2018.

However, the issue seems to be less acute in this region, as University Maternity Hospital Limerick had the lowest did-not-attend rate at just under 7 per cent.

By contrast, the highest rate of nearly 20 per cent was at Mayo University Hospital.

The HSE says its working with the National Treatment Purchase Fund to validate waiting lists and ensure that patients still require appointments.
