Significant Coronavirus Outbreak In Ireland Would Put “Severe Pressure” On Hospital System

A leading health professional has admitted that should a significant coronavirus outbreak reach Ireland, it would put our hospital system under severe pressure.

A hotel in Tenerife has been put into quarantine after an Italian who tested positive for the virus had visited the building, while a number of towns in Northern Italy are in lockdown after seven deaths from the virus.

Here in Ireland, overcrowding continues to plague the Midwest hospital system, with 81 patients left on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick yesterday alone.
