Clare's All-Ireland winning hurlers have been given a reception with a difference by one of their own.
Five months after he met them on the day of their All-Ireland Final replay win, President Michael D Higgins welcomed Davy Fitzgerald and members of his successful panel to Áras an Uachtaran yesterday.

President Higgins, who spent much of his childhood at Ballycar near Newmarket on Fergus, has previously said he found it difficult to remain neutral during the final against Cork.
