The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre has been evacuated this afternoon due to increasing high winds.
Met Eireann is warning that winds will strengthen this evening, as a weather alert remains in place for the county.
The road safety authority is warning of fallen debris on routes across the region and says drivers should expect high winds on exposed roads.
The weather warning is due to remain in place until tomorrow morning, and Clare County Council has warned of an increased risk of coastal flooding, especially this evening.
Managment at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre are appealing to people not to visit the cliffs while the conditions remain hazardous.
Director Katherine Webster says they've evcuated due to health and safety concerns.
