The row over Mohammed Ali’s true Clare heritage could finally be solved.
Ennis Town Council is being asked to demand documentary proof from a local historian who claims the legendary boxer’s great great grandfather was actually from Crusheen, despite recent celebrations in the Turnpike area of Ennis where Ali was made a freeman of Clare’s County Town.
Green Councillor Brian Meaney wants Sean Spellissy to provide evidence of his claims to establish Mohammed Ali’s true lineage once and for all.
