Gardai have released without charge a man held in connection with a hit and run in West Clare.
The 74 year old was arrested on the Ennis to Kilrush Road Road yesterday morning after a man was knocked down by a camper van near Knockerra Cross at around 10.30.
The victim, a local man, is in a serious but stable condition at Limerick Regional Hospital.

The driver of a camper van was subsequently stopped on the Ennis to Kilrush Road, on the outskirts of Ennis and later arrested in connection with the collision.
However he has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
Gardai are again appealing for anyone with information on the incident to contact them at Kilrush garda Station on 9080550.
