Holidaymakers jetting off through Shannon over the Bank Holiday are being urged to make sure they leave extra time for their journey to the airport.
Traffic has been reduced to a single lane system on the main approach road , near the airport complex , due to extensive road works.
This is leading to some delays for motorists and they are being warned to allow an extra 10-15 minutes to get to the Mid West Airport for check in.

The roadworks will remain in place until late May.
