The latest figures from the Department of Housing are an increase of 3 from September’s total and 10 from August.

289 people across the Midwest region as a whole were homeless at the end of last month.

Clare County Council’s management report, which registers 68 people as being without a home here, suggests the majority of people classified as homeless are staying in either Laurel Lodge, Westbrooke or Ashford Court’s emergency accommodation services.

The number of families considered homeless in the region has decreased to 39 from 46 a month prior – however, 27 of these are single parent families.

Only seven counties now have more people without a home than Clare, including the major cities of Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Galway.
