There could be some hope on the horizon for the 100 staff at Elsevier facing redundancy.
It’s claimed that Shannon Development is set to open face to face communications with Dutch management at the company which publishes on-line medical and science journals.
Last month Elsevier announced that it was seeking 100 redundancies at the facility in Shannon with the remaining staff moving to an alternative premises.

The company has operated successfully in the region since 1976 and Limerick East Fine Gael TD Kieran O Donnell is hopeful a deal can be done to rescue the operation
