It’s hoped preliminary work on the Kilrush to Kilkee greenway will get off the ground before the end of the year.
It’s the next stage of the planned West Clare Railway Greenway project and a survey is being carried out on the 42km Ennis to Lahinch stretch at the moment.
Landowners have raised concerns about the cycle and walking routes and the council plans to begin the public consultation process on the Kilrush-Kilkee section in the coming months.
