The new Director of Shannon Airport is welcoming what she describes as "positive signs of recovery" for the local airport.
Lissycasey native Mary Considine was speaking following the announcement of a new daily Shannon to Gatwick service from Aer Lingus which will commence in March.
The good news follows commencement of the new Shannon Charles de Gaulle service and other positive developments, though the new Airport director admits there are challenges ahead in 2011 following major losses and one of the most difficult years for aviation globally.
