It's hoped some of the National Ambulance Service's new recruits will be based in Clare.
The Chairperson of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West has raised the issue of staff shortages following a number of incidents over the past number of months where parts of Clare were left with no emergency cover.

The NAS says a number of measures have been put in place which will be of benefit to the county in the coming years including the training of 66 new recruits who will join the national service in 2016.
But Fianna Fáil Councillor Tom McNamara says that this doesn’t solve the current crisis facing Clare.
