The Health Minister has described as "pretty horrifying" the length of the waiting lists for hospital outpatients.
The HSE has revealed that 178-thousand people are on out-patient waiting lists – with some 316 people waiting longer than four years for an appointment.

It’s the first time the HSE has published the figures compiled as part of its outpatient data quality programme.
Health Minister James Reilly says his Department is determined to deal with the issue.
