Clare Hoteliers say an extra government levy on electricity will have a negative impact on tourism in the county.
They say the Public Sector Obligation or PSO levy, imposed on all commercial businesses, could result in an additional charge of 7,000 euro per year on Clare hotels.
Lahinch Hotelier Michael Vaughan, who’s Chairman of the Shannon Branch of the Irish Hotels Federation is calling on Energy Minister Eamon Ryan to defer the levy.
