Most people will spend nearly 1,500 euro on Christmas this year – not much more than they spent last year, despite the economic recovery.
A survey from Aviva Home Insurance has revealed the average household spend will be 1,463 euro this year.

620 euro will be spent on gifts – followed by 340 euro on food and drink.
One in five people said they will spend less on gifts and will consume less food and drink.
