Clare Rents Drop – But Renters Still Paying 8% More Than A Year Ago

The cost of renting a home in Clare has begun to fall.

But the latest report from Daft.ie shows it still costs 8% more to rent a home in this county than it did in February last year, with renters forking out €864 on average every month.

It represents a decrease of 0.7% on the average cost at the end of August last, but is 64% more than the lowest rental point Clare has experienced in recent years.

Ennis auctioneer Douglas Hurley, of DNG O’Sullivan Hurley, says while it’s a welcome decrease, the supply issue remains the biggest sticking point:
