A Ennis councillor is calling for dog owners’ PPS numbers to be included in their pet’s microchips.
Mary Howard says a number of local farming groups have raised concerns over the persistant problem of dog attacks on their farms.
Though it’s compulsory now for a dog to be microchipped, the chip may identify the dog’s address but when a family moves, that information is not carried over.

Fine Gael Councillor Howard wants to make it easier to track down the owners so the number of these attacks falls next year:
