HPV Vaccine Fee Set To Be Waived In Budget 2022

Fees of more than 600 euro for receiving the HPV vaccine under the Government’s ‘catch up programme’ are set to be scrapped in the Budget.

Campaigners in Clare, most notably the family of the late Laura Brennan, have long campaigned for the charges to be waived for those who opt to receive the three jabs after they’ve previously been offered it.

Uptake of the jab had fallen to just over 50 percent as of earlier this year on account of rollout difficulties caused by the pandemic.

Responding in the Seanad to Clare Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway, Minister of State Anne Rabbitte says there are provisions for the charges to be scrapped from next year.
