HSE Concerned About Rise In Covid Cases In Clare In Coming Days

The HSE’s Director of Public Health in the Midwest has raised concern that cases of covid-19 in Clare will rise over the coming days.

The National Public Health Emergency Team has warned that every indicator for COVID-19 is going in the wrong direction, with the 7-day incidence rate for people aged 19 to 44 more than doubling in the space of 10 days.

It comes amid concern over a new strain of Covid-19 in England, which has shown to be 70 per cent more transmissible, but so far no cases have been confirmed here.

Dr Mai Mannix has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that the new variant of the virus is concerning and she’s urging people to re-double their efforts to stop the spread of the virus.
