The HSE has expressed confidence that a locum consultant psychologist will be in place in West Clare in just over a week’s time.
Minister of State Finian McGrath has confirmed that replacement cover is due to begin on July 9th, while as an interim measure, the Executive Clinical Director will continue to attend clinics in the area over the coming days.
The matter has been raised in the Dáil by Clare’s Independent TD, who’s says there has been no psychologist in the community psychiatric service in West Clare for the past six years.
