Kilrush has been been given a major boost with news that the town has been identified by the HSE as the location for a new primary care centre.
It marks the fifth such centre to be pursued by the health service here – two in Ennis and one each in Ennistymon and Sixmilebridge are currently at various stages of development.
The HSE will advertise the full list of its next tranche of centres in the next fortnight, with Kilrush to be included on that list.
