The Head of the HSE MidWest is expressing confidence that the healthcare needs of the Lisdoonvarna asylum seekers can be met.
It’s now been three weeks since the first of an expected 115 asylum seekers took up residence in the King Thomond Hotel in Lisdoonvarna.
Concern had been expressed in the weeks leading up to their arrival that services locally would not be able to deal with such an influx of people coming in.

The Department of Justice has put extra supports in place with regards to both health and education and HSE MidWest Chief Bernard Gloster says they’ve a track record of dealing with difficult situations.
