HSE Issue Stayaway For Dooradoyle A&E

The HSE is appealing to the public not to attend the Emergency Department at Dooradoyle today (Wednesday) if possible.

New figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there’s chronic overcrowding at the A&E with 25 people stuck on trollies and chairs awaiting admission to a ward.

In a statement a spokesperson for the Health Service Executive warned that anybody presenting with a minor injury may experience long delays and urged people to attend their GP’s if possible.

Patients are also being advised to attend the A&Es at Ennis and Nenagh Hospitals instead.
