The Health Service Executive is planning to cut 4-thousand staff this year as it aims to save 721 million euro.
383-million is to be cut from Primary care schemes with savings of 106-million euro to be secured in pay and flexibility under the Croke Park Deal.

The details are contained in its National Service Plan for 2013 published today.
However CEO – Director General Designate of the HSE Tony O’Brien says although the lay-offs will be voluntary – it’ll have to be focused so as not to hit front-line services:
