The Irish Independent reports figures from the Courts service which outline how over 30,000 courts summonses have not been served since January 2015.
This includes nearly 800 here in Clare, out of a total of around 1,800 in that timeframe.
That 44% rate of cases struck out is still less than the national figure, however, and Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald says Gardaí have set up a working group to examine the problem.
