IAG Chief Dismisses Trump Concerns Over Aer Lingus Take Over Bid

IAG's Chief Executive has played down Donald Trump's intervention in his group's bid to take over Aer Lingus.

The US billionaire and owner of the Doonbeg Golf Club warned the government against selling its stake in the Airline, saying it would be bad for the country.

However, at an event in Dublin this morning, Willie Walsh said he's more interested in hearing from people in Ireland who, he says, "understand the issue", rather than Trump.

Mr. Walsh also also reacted to an opinion poll showing that more than half of all people here oppose any sale of Aer Lingus by pointing out that the government retains only a 25% minority share in the airline.
