IBA Wants Mortgage Payments Taken Into Account

The Irish Brokers Association says rent payments should be taken into account for some mortgage applications.

New research by Behaviour and Attitudes found that first-time buyers think it will take them 6 and-a-half years to save up a mortgage deposit.

The study looked at the social impact of the Central Bank's new rules on home loans, which require as much as a 20 percent deposit.
