Road conditions in West and East Clare are said to be extremely treacherous this morning with a number of roads now closed or blocked
Gardai say all of the main roads out of Ennis connecting various stretches across the county are passable but there remain troubled spots around Kildysart, Miltown Malbay, Shannon Newmarket on Fergus Killaloe Broadford and O Briensbridge.
The Lissycasey to Kildysart Road is closed after a gritting truck became stuck on the ice overnight and the Coolmeen to Cranny road is also impassable after two oil trucks got into difficulty on the stretch

There’s also compacted ice on stretches around Ennistymon and Kilfenora.
