The government is being warned that Counties Clare and Limerick are facing a generation of unemployed people unless urgent action to save and create jobs is taken.
The Mid West Jobs Taskforce outlined a bleak picture of employment in the region last night and said current structures of the state employment agencies are not working.
The taskforce was set up in the wake of major job losses in Limerick and Shannon last year, particularly at Dell and it’s Chairman has expressed regret at the failure of the Government to act on any recommendations in their interim report
submitted six months ago.
