Clare’s Fine Gael TD has welcomed the announcement of €10 million to be given to support Shannon and Cork airports.
The funding is earmarked for capital expenditure, and while it’s understood that around €5 million will go to Shannon, it’s not yet clear what exactly the funding will be spent on.
Joe Carey says the importance of Shannon airport to the region cannot be overstated.
